FDIC Update
Peoples Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
Brian Richter---2008 Lender of the Year
The Siouxland Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) selected Brian Richter, Senior Commercial Loan Officer at Peoples Bank, as the 2008 Lender of the Year, an award given to a commercial loan officer in the SEDC area (14 counties in Siouxland) who has successfully and creatively utilized the SBA 504 Loan Program to further economic development. SEDC and Brian have cooperated in completing economic development projects totaling more than $4.8million that have created or retained 58 jobs in the siouxland area.
SEDC also wanted to recognize Peoples Bank as an organization. Peoples Bank has worked cooperatively with SEDC to obtain approval for 33 SBA 504 loans with total project costs of $15.8 million. These 33 projects created 200 jobs and helped to retain another 63 jobs. SEDC has done more SBA 504 loans with Peoples Bank than any other lender.
